US ARMY Tanks and Armored Vehicles - Landing in Europe 2016 - 2017 US ARMY Tanks and Armored Vehicles - Landing in Europe 2016 - 2017 - http://www.gdomtv.com/ M109A7 - 155-mm self-propelled howitzer - M109A7 - The M109A7 155-mm self-propelled howitzer is the new artillery system for the US Army: Each M109A7 self-propelled howitzer is escorted by associated M992A3 ammunition carrier. The M992A3 is officially referred as Carrier, Ammunition, Tracked, or CAT. It carries ammunition under armor and reloads the howitzer. This vehicle transfers ammunition to the self-propelled howitzer via conveyer. Reloading does not require for crew members to step outside the vehicle. Usually it takes place away from firing position in order to avoid counter-battery fire. First M992A2 vehicles will be disassembled and reassembled to M992A3 standard. The M1A2 SEP is a successor to the M1A2 Abrams. This tank has incredible technology and armor. Also it has seen combat. It is one of the most feared MBTs. The M1A2 SEP offers significant protection against all well-known anti-tank weapons. This main battle tank uses advanced armor, reinforced with depleted uranium layers. A number of older M1, M1A1 and M1A2 tanks were upgraded to this standard. The tank can be also fitted with a Tank Urban Survival Kit (TUSK), that improves survivability in urban environment. To date very few Abrams tanks have been destroyed in combat. U.S. Army M109A6 Paladins, M992A2 Field Artillery Ammunition Supply Vehicles, M1A2 Abrams, and other military vehicles arrive at Bremerhaven, Germany and are loaded on a railhead to be transported to Poland. The equipment is assigned to the 4th Infantry Division for a 9 month rotation into Europe in conjuction with Operation Atlantic Resolve. Unofficially this latest version is still being referred as the Paladin. In 2013 the M109A7 was approved for production. First of these artillery systems will be delivered to the US Army in 2015.
